English Speech Contest 2022

This February and March we held our annual English Speech Contest. Over the course of a few days, students performed and participated in front of their classmates and the judges. First, second, third, and fourth grade students performed in groups with stories from previous GrapeSEED units. Fifth and sixth grade students presented their own written speeches. Fifth graders were given the topic "My Hobby" or "I Like" and sixth grade was able to choose between "My Dream" and "My Favorite Memory at Showa."
Each speech was judged on five criteria: voice, speed, pronunciation, eye contact, and originality. They each had unique gestures and voices. The students worked very hard and it showed. The judges were very impressed! Thank you to everyone that helped and participated in this year’s competition. We look forward to seeing you next year!
